It was around midday and for La Plush it was a pretty warm day for winter, yet the everything seemed silent, there were no birds singing, there was no wind... only silence. The silence was broken by a loud sigh, and then the sound of paws on the dry grass. Out of the forests came an ebony haired female who entered the scene, a black and white husky wandering in front of her sniffing the ground curiously. Samantha had her arms crossed over her chest, since it was Saturday she had nothing to do except explore. Although she had started to warm up to Washington, which had taken an entire year, she still wished to be back in Alabama. Her silver eyes landed on Apollo, the husky her aunt had rescued, who had brought her a stick, trying to get her to play. Sam took the stick from his mouth and he danced around until she threw it, quite hard, and he bolted after it.
She continued to wander down the beach, her pale hands in her pockets. The sound of the ocean played in her ears, Apollo came galloping back to her side carrying a different, larger stick in his mouth, Sam rose an eyebrow at the dog, who's legs were soaked. Sam took the stick and threw it again, once again the husky bolted after the object like his life depended upon it. Sam gave a sigh, staring up at the gray sky, missing the blue sky of Alabama. She looked over her shoulder and saw Apollo dragging a log from the water, Sam couldn't help it she laughed, "Apollo drop the stick!" He looked at her confustion clear in his azure eyes before he dropped it and ran to her side, barking and jumping around her legs like the year old puppy he was.
By now she found herself at the cliffs, she watched Apollo carefully, making sure he didn't try and jump into the water after a stick. Which she had begun to notice he did quite often. He had a bad habbit of picking up random items, whether it be a stick, toy, pillow, or even a newspaper and try and get her to throw it. The sound of crashing waves against the rocks below filled her ears but she had no worries, she was a werewolf right?

Thank God it was the weekend! Jacb wasn't really that much of a scholar. If it weren't for his dad nagging on him, he didn't think that he would ever do any of his homework. But it was finally the weekend and he had nothing to do but be lazy and relax. And of course, work on the Rabbit whenever he had a spare moment. He couldn't wait until it was actually done and when he could drive it. But...he had to get his license. Nobody really cared about it in La Push, bu tin Forks, Chief Swan was really strict about it.
Jake was glad that it was the weekend, but it was also a little annoying because he didn't have anything to do. He clicked the tv off and jumped out of the big recliner. "Dad, I'm going to the cliffs!"he yelled out at his dad. "Don't drive!"yelled his dad back as he was wheeling himself to where Jake was. "What?"Jake asked, disheartened,"Why not?" Jake's dad smile and shook his head. "Charlie had a talk with me about you. No driving until you get your license,"he said, waving a finger at Jake. Rolling his eyes, Jake said,"Fine, whatever."
Several minutes later, Jake finally reached the cliffs after he walked the whole way. It was a pretty warm day, so he was tempted to go cliff diving. He was about to take off his shirt so that it wouldn't get wet when he saw a girl not that far away from him. "Oh, hey,"he said, grinning and walking over to her.

"Oh, hey" Sam turned her head upon instinct in a whip-lash fashion, she had no idea why she was so jumpy today, she stopped herself from grabbing at his throat when she saw he seemed friendly. She didn't know that many people yet, since she lived on the outskirts of Forks with her aunt and had only lived here for a year if not only a few months. "Uh, Hi. I don't think we have met. I'm Sam." Her voice had the slightest tang of southern accent, which now that she lived up north she hated it now everyone sounded normal and she sounded strange.
Apollo ran to her side gave a small bark towards the dark haired boy and then 'hid' behind Sam all within a matter of seconds, Great job Apollo, my fearsome little guard dog. He watched Jacob though with his brilliant blue eyes carefully. She didn't know what to say about Apollo's strange behavior, "Um.... Sorry about Apollo." She hoped he wasn't afraid of dogs, though he didn't look like the kind that would be afraid of a puppy like Apollo, All Bark and No bite.

The girl that was on front of Jacob was kind of pretty looking. She wasn't exactly the type of girl that he would be interested in, she wasn't ugly either. Her skin was one of the palest that he had ever seen. "Hey, I'm Jacob,"he said,"You must be new. I know about everyone around here." He shrugged, grinning. There weren't all that many people that lived in La Push, so everyone knew pretty much everyone else.
Jake could definitely hear a southern accent. That was a rare thing in Washington. He couldn't help but grin when he heard it. Jake had always thought that accents were so awesome, no matter what kind of accent it was. She was obviously not from anywhere around Washington. "Where are you from?"he asked.
Jacob laughed when he saw Sam's dog hide behind her. He shook his head and grinned. "No problem,"he said, shrugging,"Dogs are great." He laughed again as he watched Apollo behind Sam's legs. "He's not much of a guard dog, is he?"

"I guess you could call me new, I moved here a year ago to be with my Aunt." She didn't tell him that her mother was dead, her father was a criminal who had beat and neglected her, and her ex-boyfriend was in jail for being apart of a gang that often had to do with murders, kidnapping, and drug dealing. His next words made her blush lightly he must have noticed her accent, "I'm from Alabama."
Sam had always been pale, which is why she didn't look southern, she lacked in a 'farmers' tan. And most girls in the south had brown or blond hair, which she also lacked, she had taken after her mother, having been cursed with black hair that made her look unatural. She rolled her eyes playfully at his last words, "Yeah he's my oh-so fearsome pooch." Apollo's ears were pricked up knowing they were talking about him. He licked her hand gently. She swore her dog was the only one who knew her secrets.

Jacob raised his eyebrows in surprise when he heard tht Sam had been in La Push for a whole year. "Wow, really?"he asked, surprised. If she'd been there for a whole year, why had he never seen her before? He scratched his head, thinking this over for a second, but then snapped back into the conversation. "Sorry, I guess I just don't recognize you," he said, grinning and shrugging.
Jake nodded and stuck his hands in his pockets. "Alabama, huh?"he asked, interested. "That must be quite a change,"he said, thinking of the weather. He'd never been out of Washington, but from what he knew, Alabama was pretty much hot and dry.
Jake couldn't help but grin when he saw Apollo hiding behind Sam's legs. He really thought dogs were great, he'd just never had the care to actually get one. Plus, he doubted that his dad would let him get one anyway. "How old is he?"he asked.

"Its's OK my aunt lives on the outskirts of Forks, so most people don't know me. I keep to myself." Sam said not even slightly mad or irritated by the fact he didn't know her. Actually she was relieved if he had seen her the only time he would even catch a glimpse of her was when there was a full moon... She mentally shrugged the thoughts off and jumped back into the conversation. "Yeah when I first came I had no winter clothes since the coldest it ever gets in Alabama is about 45 degress."
She remembered when she first arrived her aunt had made fun of her for having no true winter clothes. Apollo was intellegent, but obviously fearful, he knew that Jacob was talking about him and seeing that Sam seemed to like him a bit he began to come out from behind Sam's legs. He did a fast walk, head held high as if he hadn't just been hiding behind Sam's legs. He wagged his tail gently nudging Jacob's hand with his velvet soft nose, "He's a year old." She said quite amazed that Apollo had walked over to Jacob, she sometimes wondered how the dog of a Werewolf could be so skittish?

The sun rose higher in the sky and it's heat beamed down on the two people standing below. Jacob took the collar of his shirt and fanned himself with it. Of course, he wasn't about to complain. This sunshine was definitely a nice change from the monotony of the dreary, cold and rainy weather. "Oh,"he said, laughing a bit and shrugging,"that would explain it." He was relieved that he wasn't going insane or anything like that. But he knew that he hadn't seen that girl before. "Good, I'm not going crazy then,"he said, joking.
"Wow, no winter clothes? That's hard to imagine,"he said, shaking his head, trying to imagine a place warm enough all of the time that you didn't need any winter clothes. Speaking of being warm, the heat from the sun was finally getting to him, so he took off his shirt and threw it on the ground. He could almost hear that cold water calling to him.
A huge grin burst across Jacob's face when he saw Apollo walk right on over to him. He slowly kneeled down, knowing how skittish some animals could be. "He's kind of friendly,"he said, sticking his hand out for the dog to sniff.

Sam gave a nod, "I'm suprised he isn't still hiding, he must really like you." But Sam was sencing trouble when Apollo began to sniff Jacob, most didn't know it but Sam, being a werewolf, fed on blood- animals blood to be exact- every full moon. If she didn't she would cease to exist, or at least she would go on a blood thirsty rampage. Because most werewolves feed every week, she has the ability to control herself and put off feeding until the full moon, during her major transformation. Though after she met Apollo she noticed something strange about him, he was part wolf and part husky, so when the full moon came around she took him with her -once he was older- and strangly after she had fed to her heart's content he fed off the meat.
But that was the problem right now the full moon was later in the month meanign she had to put off her hunger and so did Apollo, but now she could see it in Apollo's eyes, the thirst for REAL meat and blood. She entered his mind, as they had a very close connection, and heard his thoughts and saw his plan. She had never known how gruesome her dog's mind was until now, APOLLO! Control yourself. She hissed, yes she was using telepathy and it seemed impossible but she had the power to talk to most canine's. Apollo looked over his shoulder at her, giving her a strange, forlorn glance, but he didn't challenge her and gave Jacob's hand a little lick. A sort of apology even though he probably didn't have any Idea what had been just about to happen.

Honestly, Jake wasn't that surprised that Apollo had taken a shine to him. Lately, there just seemed like there was something about him that made animals more comfortable around him. He shrugged. "I tend to have a way with animals,"he said, shrugging. After Apollo licked his hand, Jake grinned and picked up his shirt as he stood up. He slung it over his shoulder and walked over to Sam.
"So,"he said, trying to move the conversation along,"Do you come down to La Push often?" Jake hoped not because if she had, then he most likely would have seen her before. He rolled his shoulders, looking behind him at the long drop into the water.
"You ever been cliff diving?"he asked, grinning.

Apollo walked back to Sam's side, panting and resting in her shadow, but watching Jake all the while with his friendly blue eyes. Sam also began to take notice of the hot weather and unzipped the jacket she wore and tied it around her waist, leaving her with nothing but a small tanktop that showed off her nearly translucent pale skin, and curves but she had lived in Alabama so girls with curves and good bodies were just like any other girl (So she didn't think they were special to put it blankly.) "No, not a lot I am normally cooped up reading in my bedroom. That was a lie, but lately she had gotten real good a lying about stuff, normally about why she was out so late at night and why people never see her, such as now.
Normally when she wasn't in her bedroom she was wandering the forests, in wolven form, with Apollo by her side. She heard his next words and saw the grin, "Nope, never." She seriously had no idea, how could she know what cliff diving was? She knew what Mudding was and she knew perfectly how to ride a horse, but never in her life had she heard of 'Cliff Diving' although she had a feeling it had to do with water, diving, and cliffs. All of which stood behind her.

Jake thought that it was a little weird how Apollo kept looking at him. He didn't even think that the dog was blinking! Weren't dogs supposed to have extremely short attention spans or something? It seemed like every dog that Jake had ever seen were all a little more playful than the dog that was standing next to Sam. They usually got distracted by a ball or a stuck or a squirrel or something like that. Plus, the dog's piercing blue eyes were a little unsettling.
"Wow, really?"asked, Jacob, squinting his eyes against the uncharacteristically bright sun. It wasn't so much the fact that Sam didn't get down to La Push that had surprised him, but it was that she preferred to read in her room. Jake wasn't much of a reader. He wasn't dumb, he just had a lot of other things that he would prefer to do.
"Never been cliff diving, huh?"he asked with an impish grin, while he scratched his chin. "Well, would you like to go?"he asked, motioning with his head over to the cliif.

Sam rasied an eyebrow, "Promise I'm not going to die?" She asked playfully, though that was quite impossible, Apollo gave a yawn before jogging off into the forest where he laid in the tree's shade, placing his head on his forepaws. The heat of the day was making him tired and he soon nodded off to sleep. She stared at the water and then at the sky, spring was coming a lot faster this year.
Soon she knew there would be bright wild flowers, warmer nights, meaning her werewolf midnight feedings would be comfortable and a bit more enjoyable. Of course Apollo would be a bit lazier, because of the warmer weather, he liked to lounge around in the sun and sleep all day like a cat. When he was a puppy if there was a bright lamp on he would sleep in it's light. He seemed to love the heat.
