Dont wake a sleeping WOLF Once again the dawn of a day starts with the rising of the golden sun. Of course it steadily came in bring light into the darkness even when there seems no hope of escape from the eerie blackness known as night. The sun seemed to slowly creep upon the salmon sky like a plant growing. It was slow steady natural and beautiful in the most simplistic way. This was as it always was but how do you look at a sunset. Is it just the start of the day or is there more behind the blazing ball of fire?
Today for Leah the sun was just a reminder of last night’s mistake. Where am I? was the solo groggy question that ran through her mind as she began her not so pleasant wake up. Her stiff muscles screamed as she picked up her head from the sand. Her head seemed to weigh an extra ten pounds her hair was damp and smelled of sea salt and in sand was everywhere. She groaned as every muscle in her body protested to her movement. She just held her position as the memories from last night came rushing back into her head. Running yes running as always, but this time not with two legs but four; she was in wolf form. She was running from the pain as always. She ran to get away from the pain, but last night there was no escape. It would have been their fifth anniversary, but instead it was just another day for the pain to come back. She knew they were over, her and Sam; after all he already had another girl. Though even knowing it was over did not stop the pain of wondering what it would be like if they were still together.
That what started her running the pain was back and she wanted relief. So she resorted to the only thing she could depend on herself, that is in wolf form. So last night she ran and ran and ran that is till she collapsed here and now it time to pay for not sleeping in a bed. She growled as the memory of last night faded and in its place came a pounding migraine. Her nose twitched up as if growling in annoyance though it did not have the same effect it would if she was in her wolf form.
She sighed gritted her teeth and hauled herself into the sitting position. Well she was soaked in the salty water and sandy too, but other than a headache and sore muscles she was fine. Well maybe fine was not the right word to describe the only shape shifting wolf girl who does not know her limits, but as of now she was fine well as long as no one comes along and questioned her. She had no good answers except she was being a retard and fell asleep on the beach. And her pride would never allow her to do that. So when she heard foot steps on the beach she just ducked her head and let her lack wet hair cover her face.

Early Saturday morning, Jacob was up even before the sun was. He didn't want to be up, after all, Saturday was his day off! During the week was school and on Sundays, Billy made him do chores. It wasn't that big of a deal, but Jacob could be a bit lazy when it came to his chores. He'd rather do homework instead of those, and that was really saying something. Jacob got up and walked to his dad's room, peaking in. Yeah, he was still asleep, so he walked to the kitchen and wrote his dad a note about where he was. As much as Billy pretended to be a tough guy, he could be a huge worrywart.
Jacob walked past the keys to the car that was hanging on the hook by the door. He hesitated in taking them, but then shook his head and lowered his hand. Billy wouldn't take to kindly to Jake stealing the car. He rolled his shoulders and shook his head again as he felt the pain hit him. He apparently, must have slept weird on his neck somehow because it was really sore. Oh well. He'll just ignore it!
Jacob had a hunch on why he hadn't been able to sleep. He'd been thinking about Bella almost nonstop. Every time he had tried to call and talk to her, she was never home. It was frustrating and a bit heartaching. He sighed as he made his way to the beach to watch the sunrise. Just as he set foot on the beach, the sun started to rise. He saw a figure a few feet from him and grinned when he saw who it was. It was Leah Clearwater and she had her hair covering her face. Jake really did feel sorry for what had happened to her, but of course, he would never tell her that. "Leah, don't even try,"he said, grinning as he walked over to her.

be invisible be small be quite was the voice inside her head. Well the voice was not like the skitzofrantic voices that drive a person insane, but more along the lines of the voice being Leah talking to herself. Not that it makes much of a difference when it comes to voices inside your head, though she listened to herself keeping like a statue as the encroaching footsteps loomed closer. She slowed her breathing, and she even stopped her insistent movement. She kept her head low as those foot steps sealed her doom with each crunchy stride.
She could have gotten out of sight after all she is the fast wolf in the land, and proud of it. She could have at least gotten out of the sand, but that would have involved movement, and any type of movement was protested heavily by all mussels in her body. So she laid there in the sand and just tilted her head as she analyzed the on comer. She closed her coffee colored eyes letting her loss of sight enhance her other sense; hearing. So instead of coloring a picture of the trespasser with her eyes she used her ears to paint who this on comer was even before she saw it.
Its stride was masculine there was no sway of the hips like a sweet ballerina instead there was the march and swagger that is only known to belong to a man; so it was a he. There was also the pressure in his step. He had to be fairly large, though there was always possible error in her methods. The he could be a she who walked like a man and weighted a ton. So she really did not what she was running into. So in light of running into anyone she was about to say a silent prayer. That is before he spoke.
Oh mother of god, Jacob! well her words were half prayer half exclamation. She really did not know what to expect, but she certainly was not expecting Jacob. She tilted her head upward letting her ebony locks fall out of her face. Her chocolate eyes danced across his body as she examined him. She took a deep breath as she saw that he had no companions specifically no companions named Sam. Then and only then did she offer Jacob a grin that said ‘I am sure as hell glad that you aren’t Sam’.
Well well what is a little boy like you doing out so early? Did your old man already kick you out? She said with her usual sassy and sharp lyrics. Though as she spoke she moved to her feet, she bit her lip as she held in the pain of her screaming muscles from featuring in her face. She never like to show weakness especially when she had an audience. So she got to her feet with only a bloody lip to show for it. Not sandy are we? she questioned as she shook her sandy self off in the direction of little ol Jacob. Well if he was not sandy now he certinly would be

Jacob didn't exactly dislike Leah, but there was just something about her that really annoyed her. She was just so obnoxious all of the time! And it just seemed like she hated everyone and everything. While, Jacob's personality was almost the opposite. He was really laid back and didn't get upset too easily. But Leah just seemed to rub him the wrong way. He burst out laughing when he heard what she had said. "Whoa, calm down, Leah,"he said, putting his hands up, as if he was afraid of her.
Jacob rolled his eyes when he heard what she said next. Not only was he sick and tired of hearing about Sam Uley, he really wasn't a big fan of him, either. Him and his stupid 'gang.' They thought they were so great... "Yeah..don't worry, he's not here,"he said, shaking his head. Like he would hang out with him if he had a choice.
Jacob shook his head. Leah was only a few years older than him, but still she was intent on treating him like a little kid. He shrugged. "I don't know,"he said, carefully,"I couldn't sleep." Leah would be the last person that he would want to tell about Bella. He smirked when she tried to get sand all over him. "Nice try, Leah, but sand doesn't fly this far,"he said, obnoxiously.

She really should not have treated him like a child, but it was Leah’s whole inferiority complex. Jacob was bigger and stronger well in human form that is, but that was still enough to initiate Leah’s spit fire defense. He was a threat she was older than him so obliviously the only choice besides going wolf on his ass was to treat him like a child. Yes her logic was backwards and made no sense, but she was in a backwards time nothing had meaning and she could only feel the pain. Nothing was right in the world, and this is how she chose to deal with it.
He laughed just laughed about her concern. Well his laughter received a snarl from Leth. “What you scared I might bite your head off?” she questioned in her sing song voice. She grinned the whole time thinking about her words double meaning. She really could bite his head off. Though while she talked she bent down to run her hands through the sand. A simple jester that had an further meaning. Instead of simply letting all the sand slip through her copper fingers she kept a good hand full of the tiny white rocks in her hand. After all didn’t mother say it was good to save things for latter, though on that topic she might just have been referring to money, but who really cares? Right?
Maybe they could have been friends both Jacob and Leah, but it would have to have been before she had her heart ripped out and turned into a monster both figuratively and latterly. I mean she was happy and nice at one point in her life. She was actually quite like Jacob if you would believe it, but that time has come and gone and now she just a bitter shell of who she used to be. Though she is healing now one step at a time, after all wolves are survivors.
This time it was her turn to laugh “Whatcha mean? You don’t like Sam Uley and his pack of wolves?” She said her words in a light hearted fun manor, but even a stranger could see the pain in her eyes when she said his name. She wanted to be over it she really did. She wanted to say his name without feeling a deep bit of rage knot in her stomach, but she couldn’t. Even a wolf is only so strong. After some much a person will break, the real test is not in seeing how far they go till they break it is if the can recover all there broken pieces and put them selves back together again.
“Cant sleep? I wonder why? I though teenage boys were always busy especially at night! No girl, then I presume or you would be sleeping like a baby. Right Jacob dearest!” these were the sassy and sarcastic lines that left her venomous tongue. She really was only joking with him after all her tone was light and her eyes still a soft chocolate, but you never know how words can effect someone even if they were only meant to tease. Well if that was going to piss him off the next thing would probably send him right over LaPush’s cliffs. After all this time it was a combination act of both words and actions. “You wanna see how far sand can fly” were the only words she said before she launched her self at the boy with a hand full of sand.Whoopsies!

Leah could be such an annoyance sometimes. She was always mocking him and treating him like a child. He was sixteen and only a few years younger than her. This was probably one of the reason why Billy refused to let him get his license. And it was frustrating because everyone always said that he was a pretty good driver. He rolled his eyes at her question. "Yeah...right,"he said, smirking and crossing his arms over his chest. Jacob had become big and strong for his age, so he really wasn't worried about Leah attacking him in any way.
A frown of digust appeared on Jacob's face when Leah inquired as to his liking of Sam Uley and his gang. "Definitely not,"he said, positively,"They think they're so perfect and the Elders just let them do whatever!" Honestly, he was surprised that Leah was able to say Sam's name so much in a short amount of time. He could have given her a smart remark that would stun her, but it would also hurt her badly, so he kept his mouth shut. "You don't know what you're talking about, Leah,"he said, shaking his head. He brought his head back up, though, when he heard her speak again. But before he knew what she was doing, she had thrown the sand at him. It landed right in his eyes, so he flung his head to the side. "Damn it, Leah!"he said, as he tried to remove it from his eyes.
