Boredom, the killer of vampires and mortals alike. Most of the time Caius would be busy, settling disputes, or creating them. Sometimes he would be ‘disposing’ of… something. But now after a thousand years of being busy. Caius Moretti was bored. He had just fed, only because he was bored, it was a bad habit of his to feed even though he didn’t need to. He sat on the balcony, playing with a lighter of all things, he over looked the large city with brilliant and bright crimson eyes. Everyone was busy with something except him. So he decided he should find something to do, he got up and went to the closet where he exchanged his black robe for jeans and a plain white shirt with a black coat. It was winter and in Volterra winters were a bit cold. Even if he wasn’t really cold he had to make it look like he was.
As he left his room many of the staff gave him a strange look but they quickly looked away after he glared at them. Scared for their lives, since he was the member of the Vultori who would kill someone for a dirty look, he left the building as quickly as possible. He wasn’t surprised to see many people still out, most shops in Volterra are open until about 3 in the morning, but he didn’t feel like shopping right now. This was all in the upper part of Volterra, though, in the lower part it was quieter, it contained most of the Homes of the citizens of the city and there was an old Cathedral there as well, there were a few mansions, non as luxurious as the castle of course. There were a few hotels and the graveyard that he often wandered into, just to see if anything had changed or if it had been… added on to. But he was still bored and he was beginning to think nothing could cure his boredom.

It had been several days that Leo was laying in this abandoned alley. The vampire's venom seemed to be spreading extremely slowly through his veins. The pain had been excruciating, but it was over with. He sighed as he slowly bent his arms and moved up. To his surprise, it seemed a whole lot easier than it had before. And he suddenly realized just how strong he was. He leaned against the wall of the stone building that he was sitting next to. Brushing his hair out of his eyes, he slowly let air out of his mouth. He held his breath for a moment and rubbed his eyes, but realized that he didn't have to breath.
Leo sighed, having no idea what was going on and walked, slowly out into the street. He looked around him, but suddenly stopped when he noticed that there was a man in front of him. His mind quickly tried to come up with some sort of excuse as to why he was in the alley all by himself. "Ah...hello,"he said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

Caius wasn't surprised to see the boy, but he stopped when he noticed something strange about the boy... his smell and eyes. The eyes were black and the smell.... vampire.... newborn to be exact. He could tell the difference in a newborn and somebody like Aro or Marcus, an older vampire. The vampire seemed to be very controled... so far. They were both about the same hieght he noticed, he decided to 'test' the newborn, either way he was going tell Aro, or take care of the Newborn on his own."Hello, I am Caius Moretti." He said.
The newborn would probably not know who he was, though a human would, he wanted to see if the newborn had a good memory or not, such as remembering his own name... some vampires forgot their names during the change. Caius wondered who had changed the young man, the boy couldn't be more then 19. And what was he doing in Volterra? He was not from Italy in the way he dressed, most likely American. He hated America.

There was something about the man standing in front of Leo that made him feel very intimidated. Even though he was just about Leo's size and height, he gave off an air of power that Leo had never seen before. "Hey, I'm...,"he started to say, but his mind went blank. What was going on with him? "I'm, uh...,"he said, trying again to remember his own name. His eyes widened in shocked when he realized that he had no idea what his name was. He knew who he was and who he had come from, but his name escaped him. Swiftly, he pulled his wallet out of his back pocket and discreetly took a look at his driver's license, surprising himself by just how fast he was."I'm Leo King,"he said, embarassed by what had just happened. The name was familiar to him, but he wasn't quite sure if it was right.

Caius gave a small, almost creppy, smirk. Oh... this is going to be fun... Aro will get a kick out of this. Caius decided the only way to get the boy to Aro was to trick him into going with him to the castle. And Caius had his sly ways, "Well Mr. King, I don't know if you realize it but my brothers and I are the leaders of Volterra-" Caius wondered if Leo even knew where Volterra was, "-I can tell you are not from Italy, or Europe. Do you have a place to stay?" His voice had a strong Italian accent, and now he was using it cover up his intentions.
Only a mind reader would know what was going through the Platinum Blond's head, he wondered what Aro would do with the newborn, if Leo had any special abilities Aro would probably let him live and maybe join the Volturi's ranks, since they were looking for new members at the moment. He wasn't sure Felix nor Alec want anymore male members, he had noticed the two often fought for no reason, it must have been for attention. Though why he would never know.

The smirk that had appeared on Caius's face was extremely unsettling to Leo. He just wanted to get out of the streets and get back to his apartment. At least there, he would be semi safe. Being out in the open made Leo feel a bit anxious. He needed some time to rest and completely process over what had just happened to him. Leo really hoped that no one had tried to call him the past few days. He hadn't even thought of anything like that. Leo hadn't seen himself in a mirror since the attack, so he didn't think that they would be able to tell a difference if they came, but he did think that they would be able to tell that something had happened. Families were funny that way.
"Yeah,"He said, after figuring out what Caius had said in his strong accent,"I've rented an apartment while I'm here." Leo looked at him, unsure,"Why?"

"Oh no important reason, my brother, Aro, is a... nerd by some standards. And has been trying to learn about new places, and America is a very forien place to him. He would be overjoyed to learn it from someone who had actually been to america then from a book." Caius said thinking of Aro, his brother was a nerd by ALL standards.
If this boy knew what he had become......... then he would think it wise to come with Caius. Although he was cruel Caius gave people a chance if they strayed or betrayed him that would be their only chance. See he is a bit fair.... only a bit though.

"Oh,"said Leo, nodding, some of the uneasiness evaporating from his mind. "Well, ok,"he said, shrugging,"When and where should I meet you?" He assumed that Caius meant having lunch or something somewhere while Leo was in Italy. He had gotten the feeling that most people in Europe hated America and Americans, so he was surprised to hear of this. One thing that he had noticed, though, were Caius and his brother's names. They weren't exactly modern or very well known names, were they?
"But right now, I'd better be getting home,"he said, motioning over to his apartment building. Leo really just wanted to get home, where he would probably feel more secure than he did outside.

"How about dinner, 6:15, tommorrow? Our day is quite busy as you may guess." Caius gave a friendly smile, dinner... he thought, though he wasn't thirsty just the thought of blood on his tongue made him feel strangly thirsty. He really needied to stop feeding so much. There was a hint of confusion in the younger vampire's eyes.
Caius was guessing that it was about his and Aro's name. Of course Marcus had lucked-out and had gotten a modern name, or atleast one that sounded a bit more modern then 'Caius' ('Kai-Us') or 'Aro' ('Air-ow'). Aro was asked about his name often, of course people didn't DARE ask why Caius's name was well... Caius.

----------------------------------------------------------------- That night seemed unbearable. He couldn't sleep because he just wasn't tired at all! Leo seemed to be wide awake and he had a piercing thirst in his throat. He got up and walked to his kitchen, thinking that water was what he was craving. It actually didn't sound all that great to him, he thought that it would be best to at least try it out. He got out a glass and took a small sip from it. His face scrunched up in distaste as the liquid touched his tongue. Immediately, he spat it out into the sink. He slowly raised his head, though as he saw what was on the tv that he had left on. He didn't know what it was, but whatever was on there was very gory. The sight of the blood suddenly made Leo's thirst intensify. He took a step back and shook his head. What was going on with him?
So, he did the only thing that he felt comfortable doing: Leo went out into the forest. He found the nearest animal he could and killed it. It was a deer and his newfound strength and speed surprised him! After he had killed it, his thirst had gone down quite a bit. By now, it was around six o'clock, so he made his way in the direction wher Caius said that he would be. He reached a gigantic mansion, almost a castle and rang a large, ancient bell that was to announce his arrival.

Caius had gone to his brothers and told them of the newborn that was in their city, Caius was a bit restless and when that night came he couldn't wait to see Leo's face when he was told he was a vampire..... oh the fun.
A maid answered the door as the bell rang, "Hello Sir, I presume you are Mr. Leo King? Please follow me." The maid was about sixteen and had blonde hair and bright green eyes, a beauty among humans she had been found by the Volturi years before and they had raised her. She knocked on a large door that entered fairly large Living room, Caius sat on a regal red and gold couch playing with a knife, Marcus stood seeming deep in thought, and Aro stood overlooking a book, which he put up at the knock. The brothers all stopped what they were doing, Caius put down his knife, "Come In." Aro said, his voice a mixture of intellegence and welcome. The maid stepped out of Leo's way and signaled for him to enter.

The house that Leo had come to was gigantic and very old. He pushed his neck as far as it could go so that he could look all the way up the building. It was huge! He slipped his face back so that he was completley facing the large door as it swung open. He was surprised to see a young woman(a few years younger than himself) answer the door. She was very pretty and Leo couldn't help but notice just how good she smelled... He gave his head a small jerk to clear it from the thoughts that he was having. "Ah, yeah! Thanks,"he said, smiling at her. Awkwardly, he followed her through the gigantic house when she led him to a large door.
Leo nodded at the maid as she motioned for him to enter. He peeked his head into the room and slowly entered. His attention was caught by several ancient looking objects that were in the room. "Hi,"he said, looking around at the three men.

Aro gave a strong nod of his head and the maid left them, and locked the door as quietly as possible. "Hello, Mr. King, I am Aro. The 'nerd' of which my brother spoke of..." He said shooting a glance at Caius, whom was trying his hardest to cover up his apparent amusement. Marcus seemed to careless about the newborn, too caught up in brooding about his 'terrible' life. Aro was a pleasant person to be around, or so they think.
Unless you really know him you would think he wouldn't harm a fly but his brothers know he wouldn't care to kill the newborn right then a there. He wondered when he should bring up the part about Leo being a vampire...... it seemed inappropriate to say it right then and there....

Leo smiled at the maid as she passed by him, but then he jerked his head to the side when he heard the door lock behind him. Once again, the speed that he could move, startled him. He definitely wasn't that quick a few days ago... But he wasn't really thinking about that. What was now on his mind was just why the door was locked. He gave his head a small shake. Nah, it was probably just so they would be left alone... He had nothing to worry about.
"Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you,"Leo said, with a dip of his head. He looked around the room once again, trying to take it all in. He'd never seen so many old looking things before, except last year in that museum tour her had to go to for his history class. "Um, thank you for having me to dinner,"he said, awkwardly. He hated formal meetings like this...
