Esme once again found herself in the office, or mostly known as Carlisle's office, working on some blueprints. It was something she loved to do and it kept her busy during her free time when everyone was off at work or school. Plus, with Emmett and Rosalie always distroying their little abode very frequently, Esme found it hard to be bored. But alas, bordness was ineveitable when you had eternity in your back pocket and so little to be done a new. Eventually, you would have done everything. But she tried to think more positively as she scetched up plans and designs quickly on the blue paper.

Carlisle was pretty much forced out of the hospital, the emergency room was not a place he wanted to be, but he had been called to a double shift, it seemed that Forks was not the safest place to bee today, with three deaths at the hospital already, and he guessed that he had to leave before others noticed something, like he was fine after not sleeping. He had just finished up with his last round of evaluations. A day off, that was what he had unless there was a major emergency or disaster or something similar, which was more than likely but then there was never a quiet day, or anything that resembled that. There were days when he wanted to work all day and night, and not leave but he couldn't. There was no way he could ever do that. It was a something that would attract too much attention. And he had the family at home as well, he did not like being away from them for a long time. Strange yes, but then family was family, and they meant more to him than anything else.
It was nearly morning as he pretended to stagger out of the hospital, tired and beat, as several others were doing. The story changed as soon as he shut the door to his Mercedes. The radio was turned up, and he sank back into the seat. A comfortable life he had, he thought to himself as he could not help but smile. It took him only moments, to drive at a semi normal speed from the parking lot, and onto the road that would eventually lead him home. The rear view mirror showed the hospital slowly fade into the background, as his foot hit the accelerator. Maybe he was born with a lead foot, but he certainly wasn't hanging around anymore. The Mercedes tore around corners, and through street, before making the turn into the drive way. The ever so familiar route up to the house.
He parked up in the garage, as he hardly bothered to look at the other cars that were dotted around the place. He wondered if anyone was going to be home. He walked as silently as he could into the house, as to not disturb anyone who was home. He dropped his stuff at the door, as he hung up his coat, and scarf. He noticed a scent. One that he was familiar with, so he walked towards it. "Esme" he called grinning as he made his way up to the study. As Carlisle opened the door he saw Esme sketching blue prints, as he smiled. "Esme, Rose and Emmett... they haven't wreaked the house again have they? Or has Alice seen something?" He asked her as he walked over to her.

Esme was finnishing off the last details to her blueprints when she heard a car drive off the highway. The familiar rumbling sound from the automobile's engine endicated it was the Mercedes, Carlisle was most likely driving it, unless one of the kids had taken it from the Hospital. But it was about time he came home, he had been at work for a long time. Sure enough, after the engine was cut and a door was closed, she heard him call. Upstairs, dear." She called back in a normal voice, as if he were right next her.
Esme smiled sweetly at her husband when he walked in. "Yes, they wreacked it again. I think I should stop rebuilding it soon, let them do it themselves." She sighed. Or Emmett and Rosalie could try not to distroy the house from now on. When Carlisle walked over, Esme stood up and walked over to him, closing the gap between them. She gave him a kiss. "How was work?" She asked him as she pulled away. He had been at work longer then usual, which was fine, but she was always glad when he came back home -- when anyone came home. She spent the week days home alone most of the time. Being the housewife/stay at home mom, gave her a lot of alone time, but it was very lonely now and then.

He did not know why people lived in Forks, it was literally a death trap for humans. Humans who had no sense of danger, and did not see how fragile life was for them. Sure Carlisle had a different perspective, with the tiny fact he was no longer human. But then that should not be here nor there. Life was precious, and special however humans seemed to take that with a grain of salt. The hospital had never slowed down all day, people flooding through the doors, like there was a sale on, somewhere inside. A strange sight, when there was a mix of white coats, scrubs amongst a mix of agitated and blood spilling humans. If it was not for his restraint he would have lost his mind in there. It seemed every where he turned there was someone else bleeding, or collapsed around the place. As the day was going on, his co-workers got tired, and a little sloppy with dropping things, and not having the energy to work any more like they first had. Carlisle enjoyed working far too much, and occasionally that got him in as much trouble at the hospital. Just hearing Esme's voice made him smile. He walked up to where her voice seemed to float from, as he smile again upon seeing her.
So it was Emmett and Rose. He sometimes wondered if they did it on purpose, though Esme was the best at fixing their damage so Carlisle was not so worried about it, only a little annoyed if they broke the valuables. "I really dont think they would such a good job as you can Esme!" He said honestly. When Esme kissed him, it sent an undeniable warm feeling though out him, as it make him grin. He rolled his eyes, as Esme asked about work, "It was chaos... humans running around like headless chickens. People coming through the doors none stop." He said, as wrapped his arm around her. "Sorry my dear Esme, I should have been home sooner, I just could not get away." He explained, as he gazed into her eyes. "And how was your day?" He asked her softly.

Esme smiled at him. "They will wish they had not distroyed it, then, now won't they?" She have a small laugh. Rosalie and Emmett had to learn how to keep their house intact, or learn how to fix it themselves. "No. I really do not mind so much; it gives me something to do with my free time." And she had a lot of spare time. With Carlisle at work, the kids at school, she was home alone during the day. She had to keep busy somehow.
Forks was becoming a breeding grown for danger, and there was no good explination for it. But the town had a good medical care. "Humans need to be a little more careful," Or they would end up running with their heads cup off. But they only had to be a little more careful; the doctors still had to keep their jobs and do something. It would be an off day in Forks, WA if no one got hurt. Esme grinned at Carlisle when he wrapped his arm around her, and could not help but keep grinning at what he said. "It's not your fault, dear. Do not be sorry about it."
Her day had been plain, and quiet as usual. "I had some blueprints to draw up, nothing else, really." Esme shrugged.

Carlisle grinned and nodded. "Yes i am sure they shall. If they dont, I think they could loose some of their privileges.. Rose's shopping cards, and BMW. Emmetts Jeep.. that might be a good start to teach them?" Carlisle shuddered at the thought of what they might say, Though unless they put their things on the moon.. he was sure that they would get them back somehow. Carlisle sighed a little, Esme spent far too much time on her own he thought. "How about we do something? Spend more time together, so you wont be here alone so much?" He said as he smiled. Carlisle was going to start coming home early, or at least take the night shift at the hospital that way, there would always be someone around in the house with Esme.
"Yes I agree.. though I cant say I do not enjoy the fact that they bring me a new case. Though I wish that just once, it was not though carelessness, just bad luck" he said as he grinned and thought a little of Bella, as she used to be so clumsy. Carlisle shook his head, "I have been completely oblivious Esme. I am going to spend far more time with you.. we have forever, but that doesnt not seem long enough" With thing that were happening, Carlisle knew how easily everything could stop, and Carlisle could not bear to be with out Esme.
"Hve you finished with the blueprints?" he asked, as he grinned, "Because i have an idea!" He whispered into her ear as he chuckled a little.

"I do not believe that would work, besides, it is a little unfair." Esme shook her head lightly. It was mean to deprive Emmett and Rosalie from their things because of something natural, which just so happened to distroy everything around them. "Perhaps, for now, we should just talk to them; tell them it's not going to be rebuilt. They'll learn, or have a ruined home." It was more practical. Hiding and taking things away wouldn't work. Though Esme did kind of like building houses and drawing up blueprints.
"I would like that, but I don't want to interupt your work." She patted his shoulder lightly. She truely loved Carlisle, loved him a lot, but work was important in every century. Of course, they had more than enough money to live off of for ages, but still. It would be suspisious. Plus, he couldn't just leave the Hospital, they needed him. "Perhaps things will change in that way, you never know." Esme prompted. She always tried to think possitively.
Esme smiled at her husband. She could not lie and say she did not like the thought. Anytime with Carlisle was at all was great, whether it was just the two of them or if the others were around. "I just finished up, yes." She listened to what he said next, instead of asking him why. "And that is?"

Carlisle nodded, in a way he supposed it was.. though really with the amount of times, Esme had fixed the house, after their well mad half hour. Carlisle was surprised that Rose and Emmett had not noticed it before, or even offered to help with the restoration. "I think you are right!" Carlisle said with a smile. As Esme spoke again he nodded, "Yes now that sounds like a great idea. I think they will listen if the house shall not be perfect for them." He said, he guessed Rose would be the first one to actually do something about it, as she was a very materialistic person.
"Esme, you would never interrupt my work. You know i would do anything for you?" he said, as he smiled feeling the pat on his shoulder. Carlisle would give up working, if Esme wanted him to. She meant more to him than anything, and to see her happy was all that Carlisle wanted. Carlisle knew work was a big part of their cover story, but he guessed a little time off, might prove he was a little more human. "I shall make sure that they do" Carlisle replied with a small smile.
When Carlisle was with Esme, he was sure time stood still. Esme meant everything to him, and to think that she was unhappy, or that he would not see her. It nearly broke his heart. Carlisle grinned as Esme spoke to him. "Well..." He said, as he quickly moved towards the music player in the corner of his office. He placed a CD into it, as unchained melody began to play. "Mrs Cullen.. would you care to dance?" He asked Esme, with a grin as he held out his hand politely, and bowed to her.

Esme loved how much her and her husband thought quite alike and how they never seemed to disagree. But she, of course, also loved everything else about him. His looks, his personality, his attitude, how sometimes he held her delicately as if she was fragile enough to shatter but just enough to feel the tight hold he had on her, his voice, his smile... They did not contradict each other, and it made everything easier to live with. "We will speak with them later when they come home from school," She planned with him.
She grinned the smallest smile. "I would not want to start interupting it anytime in the future. It is important." Esme knew Carlisle's calling in life was to help other with his skills as a doctor, she could not bring herself to deprive him of it. "Yes, I know, dear. I know that as much as you know I would do anything for you. Bringing myself to keep you from the job you love would be unbearable. Besides, you are the greatest doctor I know -- not because I married you, but because you saved me and you saved three other members of our family." He was a hero, a savior, a God.
Esme's deep butterscotch eyes followed Carlisle as he crossed the room to the CD player. The melody was beautiful, and one of her favorites, she smiled at him as he turned around, bowing lightly with his hand out, bidding her to dance. "I would love to, Mr Cullen." Smiling, she gave a small curtsey. She took his hand.

Esme was so very special to him. He did not think there was a better mother, or wife in the world who could even compare to Esme. She was his angel in so many ways. There was never a day when Carlisle could ever disagree with Esme, she always had great idea, and knew exactly what to say. It was almost as if they were a match made in heaven. Some days Carlisle did not know what he would do if Esme was not there. She meant so very much to him, and more than he could truly humanly show her. "I think they might find the particular conversation highly amusing." Carlisle said with a grin. he knew what Rose and Emmett were like.
Carlisle nodded before smiling. "I can make some exceptions for you Esme. My work shall always be there as long as there are humans" He replied. Carlisle did not see the hospital closing anytime soon, and he should really cut down his hours he thought. Although being a doctor was his job, he also had the most wonderful wife, and family at home to be with. In many was Carlisle was the luckiest man alive to have everything he wanted. "Thank you my dear Esme. But my job can be put on hold for a while. Family is far superior to it, as are you!" he said speaking softly as he did. "Saved.. Some may put it like that, others may say destroyed. I condemned half of this family to be like me.. I still ponder over my reasoning. But to have you Esme, is more joy and happiness than I could have ever wished for." Carlisle had hoped that he would meet Esme again, it was difficult for him to let her leave the hospital when he first met her. She smelled so good, and then to find her all those years later, was like the hand of fate.
Carlisle grin widened as it went for ear to ear easily. With Esme's hand gently in his own, he sighed slightly as he carefully stepped towards Esme. His touch gentle and soft as he began to turn around the floor with Esme to the beat of the music. "I have missed you so Esme." He told her, as he placed a quick kiss on her forehead.

"They will realize it one way or the other, and we can make is easy or hard on them." Though the subject was mostly stern, her voice was very calm and leveled. Though the seriousity in her tone was masked by her crystalvoice, it showed in her eyes. "I am sure Emmett will understand right off the bat, but he will most likely choose to ignore what we said." Rose on the other hand was a little different.
Esme sighed with a gentle smile, her liquid eyes locked to her husband's. "Perhaps you could take a 'vacation', the other doctor do it often, then you end up being kind enough to take their shifts. They will start thinking it is about time you took one." Plus a vacation gave him more time to be with his family, which was something they would all enjoy. Perhaps they could even travel a little, up North to Alaska, see the Denali, or just far hunting trips.
"I missed you, as well." her eyes fluttered open when Carlisle's lips pulled away from her forehead. They saw each other all the time, but every second appart was an eternity and double shifts didn't help.

"Yes we can" Carlisle replied with a smile, he could tell Esme was serious about the matter, as was himself because it was not fair that everything they decided to have a thing. That the house again needed to be repaired in almost every way imaginable. "They have two choice to ignore us, or heed our warning. But somehow I think we can get it though to them" He said, Carlisle was not sure as to how that would be but there would have to be some way to tell them enough was enough. That or buy their own place, and they could wreak it. Though they could also fix it themselves too.
A vacation did sound good. He smiled and nodded, "Yes a vacation sounds like a great idea Esme. I shall call in later, and say I am taking some of my time off. I think it has stacked up long enough." Carlisle was overjoyed with the thought of spending more time with the family, and Esme. They were his world, and he was seeing now just how much he had been working and leaving them alone. It was not what he had wanted, but he would often get lost in his work. "I shall take a month or so.. maybe longer.. I have a lot of vacation time stacked thinking about it." he said with a chuckle.
Carlisle smiled as he gazed at Esme, his own heaven the one person who he loved with all his heart. "I could never be with out you Esme.. you mean far too much to me for that." he said, as he sighed and smiled. "No more work for a while.. I dont know how I can ever leave you hear... I wish to spend every moment with you."

How easy it was to discuss with Carlisle, he and Esme were always on the same page and same side of things. Esme nodded as she listened to him. "We are not going to be too strict, I do not want to be mean with them." She pled with the tiniest shy smile. She was a very humble and gentle woman, and she did not like to be mean -- especially to her adoptive children. She loved them all and only wished that they felt the same way about her and that there was mutual respect.
Esme's minuscule smile grew fully. "That would be wonderful. We could actually vacation, if you want. We can travel a little, or a lot. It is you vacation time, though. Thus it is up to you." Anytime together would be wonderful, but perhaps an actually vacation could reduce the time they spend apart during Carlisle's off time. "Well, you do deserve it, dear. You should take it before they take it away."
Carlisle complemented his wife often, and things of the sort at times, but just like those, when he told her how much she meant to him, she could never stop herself from embarassingly look away with a colourless blushing grin. He was too good to be true, and very modest.

Carlisle shook his head, "No not too strict. Just tough enough to let them see we mean what we say" he said with a smile, there was no way he could refuse Esme's plea as she smiled. She was the only woman who could make him melt with her smile. Carlisle knew how much their adoptive children meant to them, and to be mean to them was something Carlisle knew they could not do. Carlisle had a good idea that the children love Esme, she was the heart of the family the glue that kept them from falling apart. Esme was the best mother figure they could have, along with wife.
Seeing Esme smile caused a wave of warmth to wash over him. "Yes a real vacation, of course we can travel. Esme my vacation time, its yours as well. Is there anything that you would wish to do? Anywhere you would love to go? Just name it and if its possible I shall do everything in my power to make you happy." he said to her softly. A vacation sounded good, a chance to get away together he thought as he smiled. "Yes i shall take it. Anything to spend time with you Esme" He replied with a smile.
As Esme looked away he smiled, he did not compliment his wife enough he thought. Esme deserved everything in the world, and Carlisle did his best to give her everything. Though there were something's that money just could not by, and the main thing was love. "You are the most beautiful creature to ever grace earth with your presence. I most certainly am blessed to love you Esme. You are a true angel." He spoke softly to her as he smiled.

(cause I posted on my iPod I can't fix the problem. But the paragraph at the bottom goes between the other two. ) Esme smiled, pleased by the decision. "Perfect," She did not enjoy or, in any way, feel right about being strict or mean to her children. But she could handle being tough -- she could do that. They were very much like her own children, she felt that attatched to them in that motherly way. She really over them, but of course she really loved Carlisle -- even more then the children, really. "This way, when I have time, I can build other things and not the same thing all the time." Esme put a lighter tone to it. The truth was that he made her happy, truely happy and jovial.
Carlisle would never cease to compliment his wife, no matter what she said or did he never seemed to want to stop. Though, deep down, Esme did enjoy the compliments, it made her feel that much more loved -- it was that way for everyone, really. But, of course, she felt embaressed when he did, like now. Were she still human, her cheeks would be blushing red. A vacation was something that Carlisle deserved and it was something Esme was happy he was going to take it. "Oh Carlisle, you know I do not care where we go, I will be happy as long as I am with you." Esme reminded her husband, her hand went to the side of his face and lightly stroked it. "The time away from the Hospital will be good for you, I am glad you are talking the time off." Her hand resumed it's prior position as Esme smiled.
